Summer Blood Challenge
Delmarva employers take part in a friendly competition to save lives and prevent summer blood shortages. To "level the playing field," participating employers are grouped by size and participants earn points. Those organizations with the most points at the end of the Challenge receive awards.

There's Still Time!
There's still time! If you have not RSVPed to the invitation to the Summer Blood Challenge Hero Awards Program, which takes place Thursday evening at the DuPont Country Club, please give us a call!
Call Lisa Gravely at (302) 737-8405, ext. 887 for all the details!
Hope to see you there!
SBC Grand Prize Finalists Chosen!
With over 12,000 Summer Blood Challenge points, this has been a wonderful summer on Delmarva! A random drawing has resulted in a group of lucky individuals who will have their names placed on a prize wheel. (They have been invited to attend the Hero Awards event this week.)
The wheel will be spun and prizes will be awarded with the grand prize of a cruise going to one lucky winner!
Good luck to everyone!
Check Out Friday's Paper
Be sure to check out your newspaper on Friday. A full-page (in some cases 3/4 page) thank you ad will run with a complete list of all this year's Summer Blood Challenge winners as well as names of all participating companies and organizations. You can also check out the Blood Bank's website.
Winners and final results will be announced on Thursday at the Hero Awards Presentation at the Dupont Country Club. Representatives from each organization have been invited.
The thank you ads will appear in the following publications:
- The News Journal
- The Daily Times (Salisbury)
- Delaware State News
- Cambridge (MD) Daily Banner
- Delaware Business Ledger
Reserve Your Date!
Remember, if you think you might want to host a blood drive at your location during the 2009 Summer Blood Challenge, the time to discuss it is now.
Contact Lisa Gravely, Marketing Manager, at lgravely@bbd.org, or at (302) 737-8405, ext. 887, for more information. There are some minimum requirements. You can also reserve special weeks to be "adopted." Just let us know!
